Ethnic Leadership Branch 2006-2007 Goals

Professional Development (Carmela Ramirez, Jermel Stevenson)

  1. Implement/Empowerment classes targeted at part time and new city employees
  2. Provide 3 Parks and Recreation Profession Career Presentations
  3. Produce the 2006 ELB Awards Luncheon
  4. Plan the 2007 Maintenance Workshop in conjunction with the Maintenance Branch
  5. Provide / sponsor 2 APRA Conference sessions

Marketing (Lani Auwen, Randy Babchuck)

  1. Create new logo (better branding)
  2. Create and sustain an informational web site page from APRA web site
  3. Outreach at 3 events (ie Aloha Festival)
  4. Outreach and new membership of surrounding cities
  5. Plan 3 fundraising golf tournaments or 1 major tournament
  6. Submit articles which will be published in APRA Magazine and in the Ethnic Society Souvenir Book

Volunteer (Sherilyn Dean-Mason, Christine Diaz)

  1. Incorporate volunteer awards during ELB Awards Luncheon
  2. Create database to recruit and track volunteer participation
  3. Support 3 fundraising events (i.e. golf tournaments), UMOM Event, and the 2007 Maintenance Workshop
  4. Plan the 2007 Maintenance Workshop in conjunction with the Maintenance Branch
  5. Support with staffing schedules and volunteer recruitment for all ELB events

Donations / Sponsorships

  1. Scholarship funds to ELB members/students not to exceed $800.00
  2. Donation to UMOM Back to School Event not to exceed $300.00
